CMS Victories Go To Schultz, Poe, Johnson, Kelly, and Burns

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – It was a packed lineup of races at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS), with five winners crowned at the speedway on Saturday night.

Prior to the events beginning, the car of pure stock driver Derek Scott was drove around the track in a memorial lap and moment of silence followed by the carrying of the flag for the National Anthem. Scott was tragically killed on Friday. His cousin drove the car in heat-race competition in honor of the fallen racer as the racing family played homage to the racer and his family with tributes and memorials.

Beginning with the B-mods, Sturgis Streeter and Corey Meyers took front-row honors for the 20-lap feature with Streeter leading early. Myers pressured for the lead early and led lap four before caution flew at lap five when Myers fell from contention.

The race drastically changed as contact among front runners Streeter and Jim Moody, resulted in Streeter retiring from the event with damage. This changed the outcome of the race with new leader Terry Schultz taking off on the restart over Moody, Stephen Clancy, Jacob Ebert and Jace Whitt.

One additional caution slowed the race as Schultz fought off all challengers and raced to his 74th career CMS win. Moody was second. Jacob Ebert had a solid outing in third with Whitt recording a best-ever CMS finish of fourth while Clancy finished out the top-five.

Aaron Poe would hold off Bobby Ruff II in the POWRi Super Stock feature, earning his 23rd career win at Central Missouri.

In the lightning sprint division, Tyler Johnson would become a first-time winner at the track, taking the win over Bobby Layne.

Earning his second victory of the season, Cameron Kelly won the pure stock feature, with Spencer Reiff slotting behind him in second.

Shawn Burns continued his dominance, earning the victory in POWRi Midwest Mods for the eighth time at Central Missouri.
