Wall Stadium Mod Win Goes To Krause

WALL, N.J. — Andrew Krause raced to victory in the First Responders Night 40 Modified stock car feature race at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night. It was the second win of the season for the three-time and defending Modified driving champion.

Eddie McCarthy was the first leader of the contest as Krause began his run to the front from his sixth starting spot. McCarthy fought off the advances of Tommy Martino, Jr. early as Krause climbed to third by lap 18 and into second by the halfway point.

After two cautions for minor spins just past halfway, Krause started to turn up the pressure before swinging to the outside lane on lap 24 to take the lead and eventual win. McCarthy then wrestled with Kyle Scisco for second before Scisco faded to 12th and Jonathan Mandato finished third. Martino and title race point leader Derek Hopkinson completed the top five.

“We had a lot of damage after last week’s race so the crew had a lot to do this week,” Krause said. “A lot of late nights in the shop but the car was just great tonight! That is all thanks to the crew!”

Veteran driver Robert Sutphin jumped to the lead at the first green flag and then concentrated on the open track in front of him to win the companion 25 lapper for the Sportsman cars.

Nate Divone won his third Legend Cars 25 lap feature of the year while siblings Joe and Lexi Przybylinski were second and third.

Alex Graetz fought off runner-up Billy Pross almost the entire way to win the 25-lap main event for the Fast 4 cars.
