Williams Hoping To Extend Xfinity Series Momentum

Meanwhile, Williams’ partnership with Peg Leg Porker, a family-owned and operated restaurant and catering company in Nashville, Tenn., has also come to fruition after several years in the making.

It began with a supplied team meal for Williams and his crew in 2015, when driver and team were struggling to find sponsorship in the ARCA Menards Series and now grows into a sponsorship deal this weekend, at the track closest to Peg Leg Porker’s Nashville home.

The Peg Leg Porker sponsorship also comes in preparation for NASCAR’s return to Nashville, where the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series banquet will be held this fall.

Peg Leg Porker will be featured on the hood of Williams’ No. 36 Chevrolet at Bristol, as the company works together with DGM Racing and Williams on product integration.

“I met Josh Williams four years ago and I knew right away that he was the type of person that we wanted to support,” said Peg Leg Porker Pitmaster Carey Bringle. “Josh is a great driver, fiercely independent and someone who always does what it takes to get the job done. … All of those qualities and more are what the Peg Leg Porker brand is all about.

“Both our company and Josh’s team are independents that go out there and get it done, no matter what adversity needs to be overcome or what stands in the way, and we’re proud to have our logo on his Chevrolet this weekend in Bristol.”

Williams is looking forward to representing both the General Formulations and Peg Leg Porker brands at Bristol and values the pair’s basis in family and commitment to success.

“To have the opportunity to partner with both General Formulations and Peg Leg Porker – a pair of family companies, much like our team at DGM Racing – this weekend at Bristol is a real privilege,” noted Williams. “They’ve been a part of my racing career for several years in various ways and it’s so cool to see those relationships continue now into the Xfinity Series as well.

“Our hope is to keep the fenders clean and bring home another strong finish on Saturday afternoon.”

For a driver who cut his teeth on bullring tracks growing up, Bristol comes as a big opportunity race for Williams and DGM Racing, especially considering that no Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers will be in the field on Saturday due to the Xfinity Dash 4 Cash program.

“Last week just reassured me that we can do this; we can run in the top 15 week-in and week out with the budget that’s in front of us and the guys we have around us,” said Williams. “That’s really an exciting feeling in my book.

“I’m a short-track guy and Bristol is one of the coolest places we get to go to, so hopefully that can turn into a cool moment for myself and for this team this weekend.”
