TALLADEGA, Ala. – Chase Briscoe, already locked into the next round of the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs, will lead the field to the green flag Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway.
Briscoe earned the top spot on the grid via NASCAR’s performance-based qualifying matrix, accounting for finishing position and fastest lap from the previous event, as well as a car’s standing in the current owner points.
The Mitchell, Ind., native and eight-time season winner posted a perfect score of 1.0 en route to the pole, thanks to his win at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway, the fastest race lap from that event and his point-leading status entering Saturday’s Talladega showdown.
Noah Gragson will join Briscoe on the front row, followed by Austin Cindric and Justin Allgaier in row two, making for a Chevrolet vs. Ford showdown on the initial green flag.
Daniel Hemric starts fifth, followed by Anthony Alfredo, Ryan Sieg, Justin Haley, Michael Annett and Brandon Jones.
Brandon Brown starts lowest among the eligible playoff contenders in 14th.
Ryan Vargas, who is debuting TikTok sponsorship Saturday with JD Motorsports, rolls off 29th in the No. 6 Chevrolet Camaro.
