MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Rick Ware Racing has formed an alliance with NASCAR Xfinity Series team SS Green Light Racing for the remainder of the Xfinity Series season.
The relationship is the latest in a number of moves for Rick Ware Racing, which recently completed the purchase of the Premium Motorsports NASCAR Cup Series program.
“I am excited to be able to offer opportunities to drivers across all platforms in motorsports,” said Rick Ware Racing team owner Rick Ware. “Towards the end of last year, I considered starting our Xfinity team up again, however the opportunity to expand in the Cup Series presented itself. We have several drivers that have brought sponsors looking for exposure in both the NCS, as well as the NXS, which left a void to accommodate just that.”
Recently Rick Ware Racing began competing in the Asian Le Mans Series, an international sports car series, where the team collected a World Championship in February. Through the success on the international circuit, Rick Ware Racing gained traction with drivers across the world to compete within NASCAR.
Rick Ware Racing will offer turnkey programs for drivers that are trying to accommodate sponsor requests in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Cup Series.
“I have been given two great opportunities this year that I knew we had to take advantage of as a growing team,” said Ware. “We’ve been able to grow sponsorships, as well as bring in new drivers to RWR, due to the expanding growth of the team. While we are still a small team in the NASCAR Cup Series, we are able to offer unique marketing programs for partners to grow and succeed in our sport.”
Garrett Smithley, one of Rick Ware Racing’s NASCAR Cup Series drivers, will drive the No. 07 Chevrolet for SS Green Light Racing Monday at Charlotte Motor Speedway with sponsorship from DreamGiveaways.com. The company will also sponsor the Rick Ware Racing No. 53 driven by Smithley in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600.
SS Green Light Racing currently fields two NASCAR Xfinity Series teams, the No. 07 that Smithley will drive on Monday and the No. 08 that Joe Graf Jr. is scheduled to drive full-time this year.
