BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Derek Thorn picked up another big-money asphalt late model victory Saturday night at Kern County Raceway.
Thorn took the lead after making contact with leader Buddy Shepherd on lap 63 and led the remainder of the 75-lap event to earn the $10,000 top prize.
Thorn beat Jacob Gomes to the checkered flag by 1.110 seconds, with Shepherd finishing third.
Kole Raz and Carlos Veira rounded out the top five in the event sanctioned by the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour.
