Roderick Doubles Down At Salem Speedway

SALEM, Ind. – It was a twice as nice day for Georgia driver Casey Roderick at Salem Speedway.

Roderick won both 100-lap feature events for the Champion Racing Association Super Series and JEGS All Stars Tour on Sunday.

Roderick set fast-time for both events, and in the super late model race, he started fourth in the field following the inversion.

He led the final 88 laps, pulling away from the field at the finish, winning by almost 9-seconds over second place finisher Cody Coughlin.

“The team gave me one heck of a race car,” Roderick said in victory lane. “Short track racing is where it’s at right now.”

Hunter Jack led the first 11 laps before being passed by Roderick with an inside move entering turn three. Jack would retire shortly after being passed for the lead as a result of a drive line problem.

Roderick was chased early in the race by Dalton Armstrong and Tommy St. John.

Armstrong could stay a consistent distance behind Roderick, but was never able to challenge for the lead in the first half of the 100-lap feature.

Cody Coughlin claimed the third spot from St. John following a restart on lap 28.

Roderick pulled away from the competition near the halfway point by opening a 3-second lead on Armstrong with a tight battle for the second spot with Coughlin, St. John and Jordan Riddick.

Coughlin moved into the second spot on lap 59 with an inside pass of Armstrong entering turn one.

The finish:

Feature (100 Laps): 1) Casey Roderick; 2) Cody Coughlin; 3) Dalton Armstrong; 4) Jordan Riddick; 5) Tommy St. John; 6) Eddie VanMeter; 7) Billy VanMeter; 8) Albert Francis; 9) Hunter Jack
