SALEM, Ind. – Casey Roderick won the CRA JEGS All Stars portion of the Midwest 250 at the historic Salem Speedway.
For 34 laps, Dakota Stroup was able to hold off Roderick, but with 14 laps remaining the deciding pass was made.
“This is my first time here,” Roderick said. “I was trying to get comfortable in the car. From the get go this car was really quick.”
Stroup said the car got a little too free on the long green flag run.
“A lapped car held me up a little bit,” Stroup said. “I don’t know if he (Roderick) could get around. I did slip the right rear three times.”
Cole Williams, a winner in the 2018 race, said his car was too free and he continues to learn a lot.
“I’m happy to bring the car home third and in one piece,” Williams said.
The race was slowed by one caution period on lap five for debris.
Roderick also set fast time for the JEGS All Stars Tour event as part of the Midwest 250 beating, Cole Williams by only 3-thousandths of a second.
The finish:
1) Casey Roderick; 2) Dakota Stroup; 3) Cole Williams; 4) Cody Coughlin; 5) Trey Craig; 6) Ryan Fleming; 7) Brett Robinson; 8) Nick Egan; 9) Corey Deuser; 10) Tanner Jack; 11) Joe Cooksey.
