McCaskill Snaps CARS Tour Drought At Home Track

RALEIGH, N.C. – Deac McCaskill was able to break through at his home track for his first CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour victory of the season Sunday at Wake County Speedway.

McCaskill led the most laps during the 125-lap event en route to the victory. It was an emotional victory for McCaskill, who called the win, “Probably the biggest win of my career.” It was his first victory since the 2019 season.

Layne Riggs pieced together a much needed solid second-place finish, holding off a hard charging Jonathan Shafer, who rebounded from an early race pit stop to finish third.

Jared Fryar finished fourth, with rookie Kaden Honeycutt rounding out the top-five finishers.

Championship points contenders Bobby McCarty and Honeycutt are unofficially in the same position they were in prior to Wake County. McCarty has a single point advantage heading into the season finale next weekend at South Boston Speedway.

The finish:

Deac McCaskill, Layne Riggs, Jonathan Shafer, Jared Fryar, Kaden Honeycutt, Bobby McCarty, Brandon Pierce, Sam Yarbrough, Andrew Grady, Ethan Johnson, Mini Tyrrell, Daniel Vuncannon, Justin Johnson, Mason Diaz, Connor Jones, Jonathan Findley, Joe Valento.
