Majeski Is Three-Time Slinger Nationals Winner

SLINGER, Wis. — Ty Majeski grabbed the lead from Luke Fenhaus on a late-race restart and charged to his third Cobblestone Hotels Slinger Nationals triumph Tuesday night at Slinger Speedway.

Majeski became a three-time winner of the prestigious super late model event that was run for the 44th time at the quarter-mile Wisconsin asphalt oval. He defeated Fenhaus by .403 seconds in the 200-lap event.

Fenhaus, 19, had led 125 of the 200 circuits an collected a healthy lap-money check for his efforts.

Majeski passed Fenhaus with four laps remaining.

“Yeah, you know sometimes these races go your way, and sometimes they don’t,” Majeski said in victory lane. “Obviously, I had a good-timed caution there. Luke’s was probably a little better than us. His car was a little bit more versatile, going through lapped traffic, he could maneuver a little better and make a little more time. All it takes is a yellow and a good restart. Thankfully, we came out on top tonight.”

Derek Thorn came home third, while John DeAngelis and Austin Nason completed the top five.

NASCAR Cup Series ace Chase Elliott came home sixth, while William Byron finished 10th.
