Jeremy Doss Doubles His Irwindale Fun

IRWINDALE, Calif. – Jeremy Doss picked up a pair of victories on Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway, which included a $15,000 victory with the SPEARS Pro Late Model Series and a $5,000 triumph with the SPEARS Manufacturing Modified Series.

Racing on Irwindale Speedway’s third-mile oval, Doss started his evening by capturing the SPEARS Pro Late Model Series checkered flag. He started from the pole, but gave up the lead early in the race to Tyler Reif.

Reif’s lead was brief as Doss quickly tracked him down and took the lead on the eighth circuit. Despite a few cautions that would restart the field during the 150-lap battle, Doss was able to hold serve en route to the $15,000 payday.

“We had a really, really good car,” Doss said. “I got a little bit worried there after the halfway break when we got a little bit of pressure, but it seemed like on the long run we could get away from them.”

Austin Barnes was second ahead of Reif, Bubba Nascimento and Dylan Zampa.

Doss followed up his performance in the SPEARS Pro Late Model Series feature by controlling the SPEARS Manufacturing Modified Series 100-lap feature.

Starting from the pole, Doss was in control for nearly the entire distance. He gave up the lead to second-place starter Travis McCullough on the initial start and would chase him for the first 14 laps.

A caution allowed Doss to close the gap on McCullough and during the ensuing restart, Doss was able to get around McCullough to take the lead. He would go on to lead the remainder of the race, earning $5,000 for his efforts, bringing his total for the evening to $20,000.

“This thing is flawless. I’m just lucky enough to be the one to get to drive it,” Doss said after emerging from his modified.

McCullough finished second in the modified feature, followed by Travis Thirkettle, Eddie Secord and Sam Jacks.
