Hansen Bumps To Kern Co. Glory

BAKERSFIELD, Calif — Jace Hansen bumped his way to victory in Saturday night’s JM Environmental Inc Wild West Shootout Flick the Switch Bulwark ‘FR Firecracker 100 at Kern County Raceway Park.

Hansen used the bump and run to nudge leader Buddy Shepherd out of the way entering turn three on the final lap and took the checkered flag first for his initial SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour triumph. It was also the first win for the JDRacing team.

Hansen’s triumph also completed a comeback after he was disqualified from the most recent series event at Irwindale Speedway for have too much leftside weight.

Shepherd came home second, with Jacob Gomes taking third.

Dustin Ash and Jeremy Doss rounded out the top five in the event that was broadcast live by SPEED SPORT affiliate, SPEARSRacing.tv.

Bradley Erickson topped the pro late model feature.
