IRWINDALE, Calif. — Jeremy Doss captured the Prelude to the Showdown 100 that concluded the season for the SPEARS Southwest Tour super late model series Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway.
While Doss was earning his 12th career victory in the series, Jacob Gomes came home third and won the series championship over Austin Herzog, who finished fourth.
Gomes passed Herzog for third with 10 laps remaining and held on to clinch his second consecutive series championship.
Doss took the lead on lap 60 and led the final 40 laps, beating Cale Kanke to the checkered flag in the 100-lap event.
Seth Wise captured the Pro Late Model feature and secured the series championship.
