SALEM, Ind. – Anderson Speedway and Champion Racing Ass’n officials have announced the postponement of the May 16 event that included the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS and the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks.
“We have been in continuous contact with high ranking members of the racing industry and state and local government officials,” said Anderson Speedway President Rick Dawson. “In fact, our Madison County Health Administrator, Stephanie Grimes, has been as cooperative with our situation as she possibly can. It boils down to the state superseding local authority during this crisis. We continue to work with the highest level of our state government to find a safe solution to this huge problem.
“Currently, we are permitted to reopen our gates to spectators again on the weekend of June 14,” Dawson added. “I believe that with the proper planning and input with all parties at the highest levels, we may possibly be able to move that date up to the end of May. However, at this time it stands as is.”
Anderson Speedway officials and Champion Racing Ass’n powered by JEGS officials will be working on a reschedule date for the event later in the season.
