ARBodies & Five Star To Award Challenge Cup Certificates

WATERBURY, Vt. – Two more season-ending prizes have been added to the pool for the inaugural New England Late Model Challenge Cup presented by American Racer.

The American-Canadian Tour announced Monday that ARBodies and Five Star Race Car Bodies will each award a $500 product certificate to a participating driver following the 2020 Challenge Cup season.

The pair of certificates join the Crazy Horse Racing/Port City Racecars ACT chassis drawing that was previously announced. To be eligible for these drawings, drivers must register for the New England Late Model Challenge Cup presented by American Racer by the April 24 deadline. They must also compete in at least 10 eligible Challenge Cup events this year.

The latest contributions by ARBodies and Five Star further sweetens the pot for the first Challenge Cup campaign. The combined value of the season-ending point fund and contingency drawings is now nearing $20,000. At least $3,000 will go to the New England Late Model Challenge Cup champion. New registrations are arriving on a regular basis which will further grow the point fund.

“We’re excited to add two more great companies and drawings to the Challenge Cup,” ACT managing partner Cris Michaud said. “ARBodies and Five Star are already great contingency partners with the ACT Tour, and having both on-board for the Challenge Cup is even better. We think this program is just the start of even bigger things for the region’s weekly racers.”

The New England Late Model Challenge Cup presented by American Racer is a new program for weekly Late Model racers in New England. Five tracks in four different states will be part of this season’s championship. The 10 best results for registered drivers across all participating tracks will count towards their point total using a special system based on finishing position, car count, and cars passed.
