$20,000 On The Line During CARS Tour American Freedom 300

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – The American Freedom 300 returns to Jennerstown Speedway for the second consecutive year on Saturday night to celebrate America’s birthday in Central Pennsylvania.

A strong contingent of super late model competitors will be on hand to battle for the $20,000 top prize, with racers making the trip from across the country to compete in the event that will be broadcast live by SPEED SPORT TV affiliate Pit Row TV. Drivers from 10 different states from as far west as California, to the New England state of Maine, and even Texas will all be represented.

Among those that have pre-entered the CARS Super Late Model Tour event is local favorite Albert Francis. Last year Francis scored a top-10 finish in his first series start. After last year’s event, Francis went on to win the track championship at Jennerstown. This season Francis hopes to give his home track fans a little more to cheer for.

Also on the entry list is Bubba Pollard, who is returning to asphalt racing for the first time in several months. Pollard made the decision to sit out a majority of the first half of the race season, choosing to help his family get Senoia Raceway, a family-owned dirt track, up and running. Now Pollard is back and will be focused solely on repeating his performance from a season ago, when he won the American Freedom 300 in convincing fashion.

A number of New Englanders are among those anticipated to compete at Jennerstown. Maine driver Garrett Hall and New Hampshire’s Derek Griffith will be attendance and should be considered strong contenders for the $20,000 winner’s check.

Hall has scored multiple PASS North wins, as well as victories at Oxford Plains Speedway. Griffith captured the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing title for the second-straight season at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway in February and followed it up with back-to-back Easter Bunny 150 wins at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway and a PASS North win at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

Both drivers will be among the drivers to watch this weekend at Jennerstown.

In addition to 200 laps of super late model racing with competition cautions and pit stops, a healthy field of more than 20 Jennerstown pro late mdoels are expected to be in attendance.
