SALEM, Ind. – The ARCA/CRA Super Series 2022 season will consist of 13 total races, with 11 of those being point events, series officials released Thursday morning.
The upcoming year will be the 26th season of competition for the Template Super Late Model touring series that first raced in 1997.
“We are really excited about the 2022 schedule and season of racing we have planned with the ARCA/CRA Super Series,” said R.J. Scott, Managing Partner of CRA. “Our 26th season will provide our drivers with a great variety of challenging races on some of the best racetracks in the nation, with some of the most prestigious late model events in the country.”
CRA will continue the Chase for the Championship format for determining a series champion for the 2022 season. The playoff format has produced more teams competing for a championship in every CRA division since CRA started using that format in 2017.Â
The season kicks off with the traditional non-point opener for both the ARCA/CRA Super Series and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour with SpeedFest 2022 at Crisp Motorsports Park in Cordele, Ga., on Saturday, Jan. 29. The ARCA/CRA Super Series race will be a 100-lap event at SpeedFest 2022 that will be co-sanctioned by the Southern Super Series. This event has traditionally attracted the best super late model drivers from both the north and the south in this early season battle.
The ARCA/CRA Super Series will then kick off its point season on Saturday, April 9 at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway, with a $5,000-to-win, 125-lap event, the first of two events on the fast quarter-mile oval that has hosted more series events than any other track. This event will be the warm-up for the Redbud 400.
The series will then head to Southern Indiana to one of the original tracks that formed the series back in 1997, Salem (Ind.) Speedway for an event on Sunday, April 24. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will also be in action at that event.
The series will then go South to the famous Nashville (Tenn.) Fairgrounds Speedway for a 100-lap event on Saturday, May 7. The event will be a co-sanctioned event with the Southern Super Series and the race program will include a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event.
The series will then head to beautiful Jennerstown (Pa.) Speedway for a 150-lap, $10,000-to-win event on Saturday, June 4, a new event for the series. The series has previously raced at Jennerstown in an event co-sanctioned by the CARS Tour.
The series will then head to Michigan for its next event at Flat Rock Speedway on Saturday, June 18, a track that has produced some great series racing.
The series will then go back to Indiana to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in the previously announced Circle City Twin 100’s event on Brickyard Weekend, where the series will have a 100-lap event and the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks will have a 100-lap event on Saturday, July 30. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series doubleheader event at Lucas Oil Raceway will take place the day prior on Friday, July 29.
The series currently has an Aug. 2 date that’s to be announced.
The series will then head to the famous High Banks of Winchester (Ind.) Speedway for the traditional Labor Day Weekend 100 lap event on the first weekend in September and the first of two series events for the series at Winchester Speedway. This event will be the tune up for the 51st Winchester 400 and the second race in the series Chase for the Championship.
The series will then visit Toledo Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 1 Â for a 100-lap event as part of the famed Glass City 200, which will also include a 100-lap event for the outlaw-bodied ARCA Late Models. That event will be the third Chase event for the series.
The ARCA/CRA Super Series will crown their 2022 Tour Champion with the 51st running of the prestigious Winchester 400 on Sunday, Oct. 16, in its second visit of the season to Winchester Speedway. The Winchester 400 is one of the most prestigious super late model events in the country!
The series will close out the year as part of the famed All American 400 weekend at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday, Oct. 30, another historic iconic stock car racing event. That event will be a co-sanctioned non-point event with the Southern Super Series and the ARCA/Midwest Tour.
