Summer Showdown Getting Closer At Evergreen

MONROE, Wash. – Evergreen Speedway’s Summer Showdown on July 23-24 will host some of the nation’s top drivers battling it out for more than $200,000 in cash and bonuses.

The annual Summer Showdown presented by Tire Pros is one of the largest and richest NASCAR short track events in America. This marquee race features two classes, the pro late models and super late models, for the first time on the five-eighths-mile paved oval.

Joining the All Star cast at Evergreen Speedway for this year’s Summer Showdown will be NASCAR Cup Series driver Ty Dillon and NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Jesse Little.

Going for the $15,000 first prize in the prestigious Tire Pros 125 for the Pro Late Model race on Friday night July 23 will be some of the top pilots in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series standings, including the current leader and 2021 Galloway Shootout winner Naima Lang, Dawson Cox and Greg Bennett, fresh from his win on July 10 on Reunion Night. Chad Fitzpatrick, Kaden Holm and Haley Constance will also be among the local entrants. Many out of state drivers will also be competing in Tire Pros 125.

In addition to regular Evergreen Speedway drivers, Northwest entries include Garrett Evans, Mike Longton, Owen and Taylor Riddle, Tristan Haider, Bryce Bezanson, Haeden Plybon, Randy Marshall Jr., Kaiden Anderson and Max Schroeder. Heavy hitters such as Derek Thorn, Brandon Farrington and Kole Raz are also expected as well as drivers like Tyler Tanner and Chris Davidson.

Friday night’s Tire Pros 125 headlines the action Friday, with super late model division competitors qualifying and competing in heat races. Additional main events on Friday include the BECU NASCAR Mini Stocks and Evergreen Legends.

On Saturday, July 24, heat races start at 3:30 p.m. with the main program beginning at 5 p.m. Main events for the Northwest Mini Stocks and NASCAR Street Stocks will take place before the Summer Showdown 200.

The winner of the Summer Showdown will earn $25,000. Additional bonus money is available for any driver who can sweep the super late model and pro late model features.

The Gates open at 2:15 p.m. for Friday’s action at the Summer Showdown and at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
