Battle Of The Stars Winner’s Purse Up To $20,000

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — The second running of the Solid Rock Carriers Battle of the Stars will pay $20,000-to-win at the conclusion of the 200-lap race on Sunday, Nov. 13.

Along with the purse increase, the Battle of the Stars will have a new format.

Last year’s race was 150 laps, split into three stages. This year’s race will be 200 laps, also split into three stages.  Additionally, the second running of Goodyear All American Speedway’s autumn highlight will be a six-tire race.

“Last year’s Battle of the Stars was a bigger success than we could have dreamed of and we’re looking forward to making this year’s race even bigger,” Track Operator Anthony Goodyear said. “We’re upping the pay to $20,000-to-win and tweaking the format to make the race even more exciting and expanding on the entire weekend.”

This year, the first two stages will be 75 laps in length and the final stage will run 50 laps. Teams will be able to change either fuel or tires during the stage breaks, but cannot change both at the same time — a move designed to enhance strategy.

Qualifying for the Solid Rock Carriers Battle of the Stars will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12, along with racing later that evening for Jr. Mini Cups, Bombers, Champ Karts and the finale for the Atlantic Turfscapes Super Truck Series.

If over 32 cars attempt to qualify for the Battle of the Stars, the top-20 will be locked in on time while the remainder of the field will be determined in a last chance qualifier on Sunday afternoon to kick off the racing program.

Five drivers will have guaranteed starting positions if they attempt to run the race.
