McVetta Tops Sandusky’s Hy-Miler

SANDUSKY, Ohio — Mike McVetta won Saturday night’s 44th annual Hy-Miler Nationals supermodified main event at Sandusky Speedway.

Mayetta started fourth and quickly rushed to the front of the pack, taking the lead from polesitter Chris Perley.

McVetta held the lead when rain hit after 73 laps were complete.

“I’ve had wins here before but in sprint car but I finally was able to put together for the supermodified win,” he said. “This is unbelievable. I’m just still taking it all in and trying to believe it quite honestly.”
