Marks Fastest In DIRTcar Nationals Sprint Car Drills

BARBERVILLE, Fla. — A stellar field of sprint cars turned out for practice on the night before the beginning of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series opens its season on Wednesday at Volusia Speedway Park.

A 39-car field that featured a who’s-who of the sprint car racing world was on hand with Brent Marks setting the pace in two of the three practice sessions, while Buddy Kofoid paced the final session with Marks having already packed up for the night.

While all 12 World of Outlaws contract drivers were on hand, including recently committed Kraig Kinser, who will handle the familiar Premier Motorsports No. 70 machine.

They were joined by reigning series champion Brad Sweet, who headlined a group of 12 High Limit Racing competitors who hit the track. The field also included traveling sprint car racers Brian Brown, Anthony Macri and Ryan Timms among others.

The first of four nights of racing is scheduled for Wednesday.
