Roahrig & Legacy Team Up For 2023 Silver Crown Run

PITTSBORO, Ind. — Legacy Autosport has confirmed its plans to compete with driver Tyler Roahrig on the USAC Silver Crown National Championship trail next season.

Roahrig recently captured his second consecutive victory in the Little 500 at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway, a grueling 500-lap sprint car event on the quarter-mile paved oval.  After finding success in pavement stock cars, Roahrig made one of the most successful USAC Silver Crown debuts in August 2021, finishing second at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

The owner of Legacy Autosport, Louis Michael Meyer, is the great grandson of Louis Meyer, the first three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 and the first to celebrate an Indy 500 with milk in victory lane.

Legacy Autosport recently announced a move up the Road to Indy ladder from USF200 and Indy Pro 2000 to Indy Lights. They are also currently participating in the Midwest Throwback Sprint Car Series and plan to participate in the final USAC Silver Crown event of the season at IRP on Oct. 22.

“It’s an exciting time at Legacy Autosport with our New USAC Silver Crown program,” said Meyer.  “I grew up around USAC racing and started my career working for Danny Drinan in the early 2000s.  I learned so much working for Danny, building some very advanced cars and I hope to bring that knowledge into this program.  I’m looking forward to our first race in a few months with our new Legacy chassis and a very fast and talented Tyler Roahrig behind the wheel.”

Roahrig relishes the opportunity to race for an experienced but brand-new to Silver Crown team.

“I am very honored and excited to drive for Legacy Autosport,” Roahrig said.  “They are a first class operation with the deepest roots in auto racing.  I look forward to getting back in a USAC Silver Crown car and working with them for the 2023 season.”
