CLERMONT, Ind. — Thursday Night Thunder returned to Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis with Bobby Santos winning the USAC midget feature that opened the night’s racing program.
Later in the night, Santos also won the sprint car main event.
Driving a car owned by NASCAR Cup Series driver Alex Bowman, Josh Wise led the first two laps of the historic .686-mile asphalt oval. But Santos drove the famed Seymour No. 29 midget to the front of the field on lap three and paced the remainder of the 40-lap event.
Kody Swanson drove the Rodella No. 25 midget to a second-place finish, with his brother, Tanner Swanson, taking third.
Wise and Thomas Meseraull rounded out the top five.
Kody Swanson was the fast qualifier for the 19-car field.
