Keller, Thunderbowl USAC Sprint Races Cancelled

HANFORD, Calif. – The July 8 USAC Sprint Car race at Keller Auto Speedway and the Saturday, July 9 event at Thunderbowl Raceway have been cancelled.

“Due to all of the circumstances that we have been plagued with for the last 2 years with the tire shortages, fuel prices, and now we are dealing with a water shortage particularly in the Central Valley, we regret to inform you that the July 8th (Hanford) and 9th (Tulare) races will be cancelled,” AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Director Tony Jones said. “If the promoters cannot get enough water on those tracks, the more tires we will burn up and as you know we cannot afford doing that. Enjoy your time off and have a safe 4th of July weekend. See you at Santa Maria on August 6th.”

The recently added event at the Santa Maria (Calif.) Raceway on August 6 will be the next event for the wingless 410 sprint cars. The winged California Lightning Sprints, IMCA Sport Mods, and Dwarf Cars will join the card.
