Davey Hamilton Jr. is set to compete for Legacy Autosport in the USAC Silver Crown Series full time next season, the team revealed on social media Friday afternoon.
Hamilton ran with the team on a part time basis this year in Silver Crown competition. Among the highlights was a victory at World Wide Technology Raceway (Ill.) in August. The victory came in the team’s sixth start.
The Silver Crown schedule, which was released on Wednesday, consists of 14 events. Half of the events will be run on dirt with the other half contested on pavement.
It’s been a busy December thus far for Hamilton, as he promoted the inaugural Open Wheel Showdown at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Dec. 1-2. The 26-year-old competed in the $50,000-to-win winged sprint car event, where he finished third.
