PERRIS, Calif. — Taking advantage of a lap 24 restart, Damion Gardner powered past Matt Mitchell and led the rest of the way to claim his second win of the year at Perris Auto Speedway.
Racing Mark Alexander’s No. 1 Spike, Gardner earned his 85th career AMSOIL USAC-CRA sprint car triumph and the 80th series win for Alexander.
Mitchell, Brody Roa, Eddie Tafoya Jr., and A.J. Bender chased the eight-time champion to the finish line.
Austin Williams was the fast qualifier for the 20-car field with a lap of 16.501 seconds.
