CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Chase Elliott is going to be very busy this week after announcing plans to return to USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series competition.
Elliott will drive a midget co-owned by fellow NASCAR driver Chase Briscoe and Paul May Tuesday at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla., and Wednesday at Solomon Valley Raceway in Beloit, Kan.
The defending NASCAR Cup Series champion made his midget debut last year in advance of his first Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals effort in January. He last raced a dirt midget in February at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla., earning a best finish of 14th.
The midget races are in addition to Elliott’s planned appearance with the Camping World SRX Series on Saturday at Nashville (Tenn.) Fairgrounds Speedway and Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H.
