INDIANAPOLIS – With the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series set to kick off their West Coast swing this weekend and begin the final stretch of the season, Robert Ballou has made the decision to forego his trip back home.

“The west coast swing is a fun trip, but it’s also a hard trip financially at the end of the season,” said Ballou, a native of Rocklin, Calif. “I am fortunate to have a great job that helps me afford to race during the Summer months and with a huge project on our hands, I have made the business decision to opt out of the trip and carry on with our work project.”

Ballou, who doubles as a USAC National Sprint Car driver as well as a blue-collar worker during the week, capped his season off with a trio of wins, including another Bob Darland Memorial and an Eastern Storm Crown to go along with one of the most talked about races of the season where he out dueled Tyler Courtney to grab a win at Eldora Speedway during #LetsRaceTwo weekend.

“I am bummed to miss out on visiting with some family, friends, and fans, over the next couple of weeks, but we will get a jump start on preparations for the 2022 season, and I hope the trip is in our cards at end of the next season,” Ballou said.

As the series gears up for the Oval Nationals this weekend, Ballou bows out of the campaign sitting eighth in the point standings despite sitting out of one night of competition at Kokomo Speedway as he recovered from an injury during the Summer.

“Our season had some ups and downs, and it was great to get back into victory lane with USAC again,” Ballou noted. “I am looking forward to building our program back up this winter and hopefully getting off to a strong start in Florida this February. I want to extend a big thank you to all of our supporters who stepped up and made this past season possible.”
