SUMNER, Ill. — Besting the field in his first start aboard the Chase Briscoe Racing No. 5 machine, Karter Sarff picked up the Morrow Brothers Ford MOWA Sprint Car Series feature win at Red Hill Raceway on Saturday night.
Leading flag-to-flag, Sarff surged to the lead from his pole position starting spot and never looked back. Behind Sarff, action was heating up as New Zealander Max Guilford powered home from his fourth-starting spot to grab second at the finish ahead of Ryan Bunton, in third. Jordan Goldesberry and Shelby Bosie moved through the field to the top five by the end of the feature. Goldesberry advanced 10 spots and Bosie picked off eight competitors.
Three cautions slowed the field in the 25-lap affair, yet never caused Sarff to lose command of the race.
Briscoe now joins the MOWA record book as a race winner not only as a driver, but also a car owner.
