POWRi West Field Targets Creek County Speedway

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – This weekend, the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League will take on the slightly banked, quarter-mile Creek County Speedway dirt track in Sapulpa, Okla.

Saturday will be the POWRi West field’s first appearance at Creek County in 2020.

With the event being a standalone POWRi West race, points will be doubled and crucial for drivers wanting to get in on the championship battle.

Defending series champion Andrew Felker, from Carl Junction, Mo., remains in the lead for the season points at this juncture. Felker’s last race with the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League was at I-44 Riverside Speedway, which resided in a trip to victory lane that also extended his points lead.

Felker has a lead of 1,090 points over second place and has the potential to largely lock in the championship this weekend.

Chance Morton has recently taken over the second position in the points battle from Jake Neuman. Morton, from Coweta, Okla., has put together several strong runs recently.

In the last POWRi West race, Morton took home second-place honors in the feature and secured second in the season points as a result of that run.

Neuman, Trey Gropp and Kade Morton round out the current top five in POWRi West points.

Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. local time on Saturday for the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League at Creek County Speedway. Pit gates will be open all day.
