DUQUOIN, Ill. — Midget racing in the month of December will return to the Southern Illinois Center for the first time since 2018 when the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League sanctions the Battle at the Center on Dec. 17.
The facility has hosted an annual midget on a one-sixth-mile indoor dirt track every March, but racing has not occurred there in December since 2018.
POWRi returns as the sanctioning body at the Southern Illinois Center for the first time since 2014.
The 40-lap single-day event is scheduled to pay $5,000 to win.
