30 Races Scheduled For POWRi WAR Sprints

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Lucas Oil POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint Car League officials have released a 30-race schedule at 10 different dirt tracks for the new season ahead.

Nine of those dates are to the POWRi WAR home facility of Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway, while eight total dates are in conduction with the newly formed Xtreme Outlaw Sprint Car Series.

The POWRi Sprint season starts Friday, April 8 at Missouri’s US-36 Raceway, followed by a trip to Lake Ozark Speedway the following night for the annual Jason Johnson Classic with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

Additional visits to Lake Ozark include April 29-30, the LOS Sprint & Midget Nationals on May 27-28, the fourth annual POWRi Non-Wing Nationals on June 10-11 and the second annual All-Star Beach Brawl on July 22-23.

Continuing with series traditions, POWRi WAR will once again visit Valley Speedway for the MO-Mid State Nationals on Friday, May 13 followed by the 11th annual Open Wheel Showdown at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday, May 14. Both events will be accompanied by the Lucas Oil POWRi National & West Midget Leagues.

Two facilities will debut next year, with a trip to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on June 24-25, as well as the first visit to Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex on July 17.

Stand-alone, single-night races include Central Missouri Speedway on Saturday, June 18, Jacksonville Speedway on Friday, Sept. 9 followed by Spoon River Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 10.

One of the biggest honorary events every year for the Lucas Oil POWRi WAR Sprint League continues Sept. 15-17 as the Diamond of the Dirt Tracks hosts the 12th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., to tentatively wrap up the racing season.
