ELDON, Mo. – Gavan Boschele earned his first Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League victory Sunday at Lake Ozark Speedway, becoming the youngest winner in POWRi history in the process.
Boschele won his heat and started second in the 25-lap feature. Jade Avedisian took off into the early lead with Boschele on her tail. He took the lead shortly thereafter and never looked back.
Behind him his Keith Kunz Motorsports teammates Bryant Wiedeman and Brenham Crouch duked it out for second before the caution finally waved with four laps to go. Boschele distanced himself from the field during the restart to claim his first series victory at the age of 12.
“All in all the KKM guys gave me a great car and I’m so thankful. This means a lot and hopefully there is way more,” Boschele said.
Crouch settled for second behind Boschele.
“I pretty much just had to trust the car that the guys and Beau gave me, they gave me a rocket and I used it to its full potential. I came up one spot short but I just couldn’t poke him,” Crouch said.
Wiedeman was third, followed by Brent Crews and Kaylee Bryson.
