Parker Price-Miller Diagnosed With Cancer

INDIANAPOLIS – Sprint car driver Parker Price-Miller confirmed Thursday that he has been diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma, the most common type of Non Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Price-Miller, 23, explained in a post on Twitter that for the last two years he’s dealt with complications with his right ankle, which led him to have a bone spur surgically removed in November of 2020.

However, the removal of the bone spur did not do away with the pain in his ankle as Price-Miller had expected. Doctors did additional tests, which led to the discovery of a tumor in the bones of his right ankle.

A biopsy confirmed that the tumor was cancerous.

“I have been racing and competing for as long as I can remember and I know this is about the hardest race of my life, but one I will not lose,” Price-Miller said. “My plans are to still race as much as I can over the winter, but as we learn more and I start this fight, I will have to take it all one day at a time.”

Price-Miller still plans to compete in the World of Outlaws World Finals on Nov. 4-6 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. He will then return home to Indiana, where he will begin radiation in an effort to eliminate the cancer.

Price-Miller has won two World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series features during his career. He captured the 2016 Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Car Series title and is a two-time winner of the Canadian Nationals.

He has one victory this year, which came at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., in September.
