Who Are The Top Sprint Car Winners Of The Last 15 Years?

CONCORD, N.C. — It’s no surprise to anyone that Donny Schatz is the winningest driver in the history of the National Sprint Car Rankings.

Commissioned by World Racing Group in 2009 and administered by Gary Spaid, the National Sprint Car Rankings measure the success of 410 winged sprint car drivers throughout the country against one another.

Schatz has won 227 features during the 15 years the ratings and is one of six drivers to won in all 15 seasons.

He’s topped the National Sprint Car Rankings on six occasions.

David Gravel topped the National Sprint Car Rankings for the first time this season, with an average finish of 3.349.

While Schatz tops the winners list through the past 15 years, 537 different drivers have won at least one 410 winged sprint car feature during that time span.

North Dakota’s Mark Dobmeier ranks second on the winners list with 154 triumphs, while Wisconsin-based Billy Balog is third with 141 victories.

Pennsylvania veterans Danny Dietrich (135) and Lance Dewease (105) round out the top five.

Five-time World of Outlaws champion Brad Sweet and Hall of Famer Dale Blaney are tied for sixth with 102 victories since 2009.

Gravel stands eighth with 101 victories, while the late Greg Hodnett is ninth with 99 wins. Perennial fan favorite Kyle Larson and Hall of Famer Tim Shaffer have each claimed 91 wins since the rankings were first launched.

While Schatz topped the rankings on six occasions. Brad Sweet (2), Gravel, Brent Marks, Larson, Balog, Dietrich, Shaffer and Jason Meyers have all led the National Sprint Car Rankings at the end of a season.
