USCS Set For Snow Free Winter Nationals

CLEWISTON, Fla. — The United Sprint Car Series Southern Thunder Tour regional series kicks off this weekend with the fifth annual USCS Snow Free Sprint Car Winter Nationals at Hendry County Motorsports Park.

The Friday and Saturday racing programs are the first two rounds of the 12-race USCS Winter Heat Series and will be broadcast live by SPEED SPORT Network affiliate dirt2media.tv.

Reigning series champion Danny Smith and many-time USCS champion Terry Gray, who was recently elected to the Sprint Car Hall of Fame in which Smith has already been inducted, will headline the field of 360 sprint car racers on hand.

The Winter Heat Series with its six two-night events at six different venues, carries a $6,000 point fund to be distributed to the top 10 drivers who compete in all Winter Heat mini-series events. Dirt2Media.tv will broadcast all 12 events in the series.

The Winter Heat Series continues Nov. 11-12 at Georgia’s Needmore Speedway and includes stops at Florida’s Southern Raceway (Feb. 25-26), Hattiesburg (Miss.) Speedway (March 4-5), Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Ala., on March 11-12 and North Alabama Speedway on Nov. 18-19.

The USCS Southern Thunder Tour regional series includes 33 races with visits to 15 tracks in six states, beginning this weekend and concluding Nov. 12 at Southern Raceway.
