Trophy Cup To Pay Record Purse

TULARE, Calif. — This coming October when the Abreu Vineyards 29th Annual Trophy Cup Presented By Rudeen Racing takes place at Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway, a record purse will be paid over the three-day event.

The record setting payout will be approximately $225,000, an increase of $25,000 over last year’s total.

The additional money will be put into the B main and A main on Saturday.

The B main will receive a significant boost as it will be an $11,350 total payout compared to last year’s $4,475. The Saturday B main will pay $1,000 for fifth and $500-to-start, a large increase over the prior purse. The top four in the Saturday B main are set to be rewarded with a starting spot in the 50-lap finale, and will be part of the new guaranteed payout for the Saturday A main.

The 24 drivers that comprise the Saturday A main field will be guaranteed $6,000 in earnings for the three days combined. This is a $1,000 increase over the previous payout. The purse adds money as needed to any driver whose total earnings do not reach the $6,000 guarantee.

The 2023 Trophy Cup champion will earn $29,000 in total earnings since it will be the 29th year of the event.

One part of the event that won’t change is the support to Make-A-Wish Foundation. All entry fees along with money raised in a variety of activities will be donated to the Foundation as has been the case for many years. The current total raised by the Trophy Cup for Make-A-Wish is $2,675,000.

Entry forms will be mailed to teams that raced last year in April with a maximum of 120 entries being accepted.
