MILTON, Fla. — National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Terry McCarl won Friday night’s United Sprint Car Series Winter Heat feature at Southern Raceway.
McCarl started third and raced past front row starters Terry Gray and Van Gurley Jr. to claim the lead.
He paced the remainder of the 25-lap event, beating Pennsylvania traveler Mark Smith, who started fifth, to the checkered flag.
Gray finished third with Gurley and Brett Wright rounding out the top five.
