Talladega Doubleheader For USCS

EASTABOGA, Ala. — The United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars are set to invade Talladega Short Track for the USCS Shootout at the Short Track on Friday and Saturday.

For the United Sprint Car Series competitors, it’s a chance to re-visit the track where it all began for the USCS. The inaugural USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour event was held at Talladega Short Track on Friday, April 25, 1997.

Both nights’ action will be broadcast live by SPEED SPORT affiliate, www.TalladegaShortTrack.TV

The 13-time United Sprint Car Series champion and 2022 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee, Terry Gray, was the winner of that first USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour event. Gray will be in competition this weekend as well.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who won last year’s 25th Anniversary Silver Shootout event at Talladega Short Track, is also among the entries this weekend. Stenhouse has won five USCS features during the past two seasons.

Another NASCAR Cup Series driver, Chase Briscoe, is expected to join the field as well this weekend.

Friday night’s USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters main-event will pay $2,200 to the victor of the 25-lap night one preliminary main event.

The Saturday night USCS Shootout at the Short Track finale will pay $3,000 to win the 30-lap feature.

Super late models, late model sportsman, sportsman late models, factory stocks and hot shots are also on the card.
