MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Spurred by a victory at River Cities Speedway in North Dakota last week, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series point leader Brad Sweet increased his advantage in the National Sprint Car Rankings.
Sweet, who has a national-best 16 victories, including 15 with the World of Outlaws, touts a 3.240 average finish in 62 races this season.
Carson Macedo is second in the rankings with a 3.923 average finish in 67 races. Ten-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz won at Nebraska’s I-80 Speedway on Friday and improved his average finish to 4.154 in 67 events.
David Gravel is fourth, and Dominic Scelzi, who finally hit the 20-start plateau to be eligible for the National Sprint Car Rankings, rounds out the top five.
One hundred and 28 drivers have made the 20 starts required to qualify for the National Sprint Car Rankings.
Lance Dewease (Eastern), Dominic Scelzi (Western), Kyle Bellm (Mid-America), D.J. Foos (Great Lakes), Brendan Mullen (Great Plains) and Brandon Matus (PA-OH) are the regional leaders.
One hundred and 53 drivers have combined to win the 390 features run.
