MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Dropping his worst finishes with every race he runs, Brad Sweet continues to improve his average finish and maintain his stranglehold at the top of the National Sprint Car Rankings.
Sweet, who finished third in Saturday night’s 60th Knoxville Nationals, has lowered his average finish to 3.540 in 58 starts this season.
His advantage at the top remained consistent over Carson Macedo, who boasts a 4.040 average finish in 62 races this season.
Donny Schatz ranks third with a 4.720 average finish in 62 starts, while Knoxville Nationals winner Kyle Larson ranks fourth with a 4.957 average finish in 23 starts. However, with the NASCAR playoffs around the corner, the Nationals were expected to be Larson’s last sprint car race this season.
David Gravel is ranked fifth in the nation.
One hundred and 13 drivers have made the 20 starts required to qualify for the National Sprint Car Rankings.
Lance Dewease (Eastern), Dominic Scelzi (Western), Sweet and Kyle Bellm (Mid-America), D.J. Foos (Great Lakes), Justin Henderson (Great Plains) and Brandon Matus (PA-OH) are the regional leaders.
One hundred and 44 drivers have combined to win the 350 features run.
