PUTNAMVILLE, Ind. – Jake Swanson finally toppled Kyle Cummins’ run of success in the Midwest Sprint Car Series with a win in the Memorial Weekend Special Saturday night at Lincoln Park Speedway.
Topping a field of 46 entries, Swanson defeated Cummins – who had won three straight MSCS races to open the year – and the rest of his competition in the feature at the five-sixteenths-mile dirt oval.
Fort Branch, Ind., native and USAC ironman Chase Stockon finished second to Swanson, with Robert Ballou, A.J. Hopkins and Cummins filling out the top five.
Brayden Fox set fast time, with Kyle Shipley, Ballou, Hopkins, Cummins and Stockon winning heat races. Aric Gentry topped the B-main.
