Seth Bergman To Drive For Baughman Family

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Seth Bergman has landed a unique opportunity to pilot a winged sprint car owned by Mike and Josh Baughman.

The No. 17 team will compete in approximately 30 select 410ci and 360ci sprint car events this season, with a focus on 410 competition.

“I’m grateful for Mike and Josh Baughman giving me this opportunity and believing I can be successful,” Bergman said. “I’ve been wanting to do more 410 racing and this will provide an excellent opportunity to compete with a team that has great resources.”

While a set schedule isn’t finalized, Bergman said the team will debut at the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour season-opening doubleheader Feb. 28-29 at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz., and will likely tackle all three ASCS National Tour races in California the following weekend.

“I’m confident that we can be contenders right away,” he said. “I know the team has great equipment and a great crew. It’s up to me to make the most of the opportunity and I’m looking forward to that.”

Bergman noted that he will fill in his schedule with events in his No. 23 sprint car, but the priority is to drive for the Baughman family.

“I’ve known Seth and raced with him for a long time and have always felt like he would take advantage given the right opportunity,” Josh Baughman said. “We’re excited to have him join our team and we’re looking forward to a lot of success together.”
