CONCORD, N.C. – Donny Schatz was not among the three drivers to win 410 winged sprint car races over the weekend, but the 10-time World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series champion remains atop the Eastern region of the National Sprint Car Rankings.
Schatz has two wins in nine starts and has a healthy lead over Logan Schuchart. Aaron Reutzel, who won Saturday’s World of Outlaws feature at Florida’s East Bay Raceway Park, ranks third.
The Western region opened its season Jan. 22-24 at Arizona Speedway and Carson Macedo leads Buddy Kofoid by two points after three races.
The national rankings will begin once drivers have made 20 starts on the season.
Nine drivers have combined to win the 14 features run.
