Scelzi Is Hanford’s King Of Thunder

HANFORD, Calif. – Dominic Scelzi ruled the 30-lap Kings of Thunder sprint car feature held Saturday night at Keller Auto Speedway.

Scelzi raced among the top five all night and took command with eight laps to go, making the decisive pass on Austin McCarl and going on to win by 1.128 seconds.

McCarl ended up second after leading 13 laps in the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21.

Daryn Pittman filled out the podium in Jason Meyers’ No. 14, followed by Shane Golobic and Friday night winner J.J. Hickle.

Bud Kaeding, Rico Abreu, D.J. Netto, Blake Carrick and Mitchell Faccinto closed the top 10.

Joel Meyers, who led the first nine laps of the feature, failed to finish and placed 21st.

More than 50 cars signed in to compete at the Peter Murphy-promoted dirt track.
