Scelzi Claims $15,000 Bridgeport Prize

BRIDGEPORT, N.J. — Gio Scelzi was the big winner as the three-day Sprintoberfest Sprint Car Weekend concluded Sunday evening at Bridgeport Motorsports Park.

Scelzi drove the KCP Racing No. 18 from the second row to win the 40-lap, $15,000-to-win main event for winged 410 sprint cars on a beautiful fall evening.

Scelzi held off Kyle Reinhardt for the victory, with Lance Dewease, Devon Borden and Danny Dietrich rounding out the top five.

Briggs Danner claimed victory in the 40-lap event for the USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series, claiming the non-winged 360 sprint car event ahead of Alex Bright, Joey Amantea, Kyle Spence and Colin White.

The URC sprint cars rounded out the card, with Devon Borden claiming the 40-lap event for winged 360 sprints ahead of Anthony Macri.

Dallas Schott, Danner and Tyler Ross completed the top five.
