Rockford To Host Must See Racing For First Time Since 2018

LOVES PARK, Ill. – Rockford Speedway is set to host the “Fastest Short Track Cars in the World” this Saturday night, July 2 when the Must See Racing Sprint Series presented by Engine Pro invades the speedway for the first time since 2018.

Rockford Speedway, which opened in 1948, is one of the most entertaining speedway the winged sprint cars will participate at in 2022. The unique quarter-mile is highly popular with many of the Must See Racing teams due to the high-banked speedway which features 22-degree banking in the corners. The straightaways are relatively flat. The track layout has provided thrilling races for winged sprint cars in years past, and this season is expected to feature another entertaining race.

It has been since 2018 that MSR last raced at Rockford Speedway. Jimmy McCune won that event on July 28, 2018, nearly four years ago over Charlie Schultz and Jacob Wilson. Anthony McCune was the nights fast qualifier (11.601). Jimmy McCune and Shultz are expected to compete in this year’s event as well.

Besides the Instant Jungle Presents Must See Racing Sprint Cars, the program will also feature the annual Late Model Star Spangled 76. In addition, the racing program will include Bandits, HSR, and Powder Puffs.

The MSR portion of the event will include single car qualifying, heat races, autograph session, and will be capped off with a thrilling 50-lap feature event.

Charlie Schultz currently holds a 14-point lead over Joe Liguori and a 48-point lead over Jacob Dolinar. Schultz will be looking to add to his series points lead in his quest for his first series championship.
