Rain Cancels All Star Opener At Senoia

BROWNSBURG, Ind. — With heavy precipitation already saturating Florida’s Senoia Raceway, and an extended forecast predicating periods of off and on rain throughout the next five days, the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil have canceled the weekend’s two-day All Star Southern Swing opener.

The event was originally scheduled for February 3-4. The event will not be made up.

“We appreciate Senoia Raceway’s attempt in completing this weekend’s event, but with weather an obvious factor, canceling early is the right decision,” stated Jared Frood on behalf of the All Stars. “Ample drying time was going to be a factor and the track was quick to relay that to us. An early cancelation will save teams from travel expenses and we can begin to look ahead to Volusia.”

The All Star Circuit of Champions will now turn their attention ahead to DIRTcar Nationals competition at Volusia Speedway Park in DeLeon Springs, Florida, on February 7-8.

The Classic Ink USA Southern Swing presented by Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts will then continue at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida, on February 13-14.

Although losing last year’s Volusia doubleheader due to Mother Nature, the All Star visit to East Bay produced two different winners with eventual series champion, Tyler Courtney, scoring the victory on night one. Cory Eliason was the victor the following evening with Dylan Westbrook and Tyler Courtney in tow.

Despite not awarding points toward the overall All Star championship chase, all four of the upcoming programs at Volusia Speedway Park and East Bay Raceway Park will award $6,000 paydays.
