Plymouth Hosting IRA Sprints As Road America Primer

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Officials from Road America announced a unique partnership with the Plymouth Dirt Track Tuesday, adding a Thursday night winged sprint car doubleheader to the festivities surrounding the NASCAR Cup Series Road America 250 presented by Kwik Trip weekend July 1-4.

Thursday evening, July 1, the regional Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will headline an all sprint car show on the third-mile Plymouth Dirt Track, located at Sheboygan County Fair Park, just five miles from Road America.

The event will feature some of the top sprint car teams in the Midwest, as well as a handful of NASCAR Cup Series stars. Stewart-Haas Racing driver Chase Briscoe has already added his name to the sprint car entry list, and more drivers are expected to round out the roster as the event draws closer.

The Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series is one of the respected regional sprint car series in the United States. In recent years, Cup Series stars Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, and Kyle Larson have all revisited their sprint car roots and raced their way to IRA victory lane, with Stewart and Larson both notching IRA triumphs at Plymouth.

A full field of Bumper To Bumper IRA winged sprint cars is expected, as well as a significant number of PDTR/MSA 360 winged sprint cars, making up a sprint car doubleheader.
