INDIANAPOLIS — Daryl Saucier, owner of DSR Fuel Systems and Daryl Saucier Racing passed away on Friday, December 16 at home.

The former World of Outlaws sprint car and USAC midget car owner and crew chief unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Saucier was recognized for being one oi75f the pioneers of sprint car fuel system products after opening his fuel pump repair business initially in Memphis, Tennessee before relocating to the sprint car racing hotbed of the Midwest.

Saucier previously campaigned cars successfully in the World of Outlaws sprint car series as both a crew chief and as a car owner.

One of his most successful driver/crew chief partnerships was with Jac Haudenschild in the mid-1980’s when they campaigned the Nance Speed Equipment No. 1n house car.

After a successful car owner and crew chief road career, he decided to spend more time focusing on his growing fuel system business, which started as pump repairs and grew to include his own DSR fuel pump and other components.

As the United Sprint Car Series continued to grow, DSR Fuel Systems became a series sponsor of USCS for over 20 years.

“I have used DSR Fuel Systems technology since Daryl Saucier started DSR in the early 1990s,” Terry Gray, 14-time USCS National Champion. “I have won at least 15 National Championships since then with DSR Fuel Systems.”

“DSR Fuel Systems is one of those companies that has annually supported the USCS and helped its teams,” USCS Founder and President Pete Walton said. “DSR helped USCS to grow in the previously sprint car racing void area of the country where we compete.

“Daryl was always especially helpful to those new to the sport of sprint car racing in preparing and maintaining their fuel systems. His knowledge and experience were always helpful to start-up teams in the past. He will be greatly missed by many of us in the racing community.”
